More money for Serbian parliamentary parties in amended budget

It said that the amended budget includes an additional181.3 million Dinars (1 Euro – 117 Dinars) for parliamentary parties, money that was not in the original 2022 budget. According to Transparency Serbia, the amended budget is in line with the Law on Financing Political Activities and comes with an increase in budget revenue but warned that the change was not elaborated in the proposal to amend the budget.

“The group of parties rallied around the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will get 57 instead of 50 million a month, the UPS will get 19 instead of 17 and the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) – United Serbia (JS) MPs will get 16.5 instead of 14.6 million Dinars a month,” the organization said. The increase in monthly funding for opposition parties ranges from a million to about 60,000 Dinars.
