After a meeting of the Belgrade Judiciary Union, more than 100 judges and prosecutors said Tuesday that the statements of the minister of justice pose a threat to employees in the judiciary.
Justice Minister Maja Popovic described the meeting as political, and said it is clear the union “unequivocally joined the blockades and work stoppages, which are a symbol of the color revolution.”
“Can those responsible for resolving issues in the judiciary ‘detach’ from politics and politicking the cries of employees, who work under impossible conditions, and who, in relation to this, plan and organize law-based demonstrations of their dissatisfaction… and refrain from the claim that this is, actually part of – a color revolution! (whatever that may mean),” the union member said in a press release.
“Or are the threats and insults directed at judicial assistants and other employees in the judiciary, labeling them as part of a color revolution, a way to shift one’s own responsibility to others, specifically to those who are pointing out the problems?” the union members asked.
