Lviv was under a 30-minute alert due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which started on February 24, while in Mariupol', the dead, among whom were more civilians than soldiers, according to the Ukrainian authorities, could not be adequately buried, N1's Ana Mlinaric reported on Friday.

The morning was tough in the Dnipro area, rocked with explosions for the first time in 16 days of the war.

According to her information, "the situation is somewhat better in the cities around Kyiv where about 20,000 people have been evacuated in recent days. The Ukrainian Defence Minister said that "in the 16 days of aggression, more civilians than soldiers were killed."

In the meantime, N1's Petar Gajic said slightly fewer refugees arrived from Ukraine at the Isaksea crossing border with Romania on Friday. He added that about 10,000 people crossed at this crossing in the last four days, and the Romanian authorities estimated that about 300,000 people have fled from Ukraine to Romania at all crossings so far.

"The town of Lutsk, 140 kilometres away from Lviv, was also hit for the first time, also the town of Ivano-Frankivsk some 113 kilometres for Lviv. The targets were said to be strategic, an airport and a water supply system," Mlinaric said.

She added that the situation had worsened for the Ukrainians who were fleeing to the west.

"Mariupol' is the city where the situation has been the hardest all these days. There is a humanitarian crisis, 400,000 people have been captured in the town, and the Ukrainian authorities estimate that at least half of them want to leave," Mlinaric said.

She added that "the evacuation cannot start since the Russian side doesn't respect cease fire; the route leading to Zaporizhzhia
is constantly under shelling. There is no water or power for days; people write on Twitter they don't know if their relatives and friends are alive."
Also, Mariupol's dead cannot be adequately buried and are put in mass graves.

"Ove 1,300 people died in Mariupol' and cannot be laid to rest with dignity," Mlinaric said.
