Police in riot gear were deployed at the venue where outgoing Prime Minister and SNS leader Milos Vucevic, Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic and other top party officials were supposed to meet with the leadership of the Nis branch of the SNS in the city center.

“I’m coming to Nis soon and I’ll chase away all the thugs who appeared there tonight and think they can create their order,” President Vucic said and added that they will end up in jail.

An N1 reporter said that the police blocked access to the Officers’ Home, deploying riot officers in several rings.
The reporter said that protesters pelted eggs at the SNS officials that they recognized as they approached the venue. The Mayor of Nis Dragoslav Pavlovic was ambushed by protesters who threw eggs and water at him and his bodyguard.
