N1 TV crew has visited Kibbutz Beri in Israel, just four kilometers away from the border with Gaza, which was destroyed by Hamas terrorists in an attack on October 7.

Kibbutzim are communes whose small population is mainly engaged in agriculture. There are about 270 of them in Israel, and one of them is Beri, just four kilometers from the Gaza Strip.

Around 6:30 a.m., on October 7, between 120 and 200 Hamas terrorists cut through the protective fence around the kibbutz, and stormed inside on motorcycles and trucks, carrying automatic weapons,  Rami Gold, one of ten residents of the kibbutz, told a team of journalists from abroad, including N1 reporter Branislav Sovljanski.

A total of 108 people were killed in the Hamas attack, which is almost every tenth resident of the kibbutz, which had a total of 1,100 inhabitants. There are also residents of Beri who were kidnapped by members of Hamas and taken to Gaza, and their fate is unknown. Nine comrades of Rami Gold also died.

According to him, they defended the kibbutz „until the last bullet,“ from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., when the Israeli army arrived, cleared the kibbutz of terrorists and evacuated the surviving residents.

The pictures taken by the N1 reporter in the Kibbutz show the extent of the conflict. What used to be houses where people lived has turned into ruins. Shell casings and bullet holes are everywhere.

While N1’s Sovljanski reported from the site, detonations echoed, with the Israeli air defense in action, only 200 meters from where the foreign journalists were reporting.
