'Ne damo Jadar' (We Don't Give Jadar) NGO in western Serbia said in a statement on Thursday they would "welcome Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic and everyone familiar with the problems caused by the Rio Tinto planned lithium mining in Gornje Nedeljice and other villages."

"The President will meet people who are sincerely fighting against the mines… We hope that the meeting will also be attended by the Mayor of t Loznica, as well as all journalists and television crews in Serbia, for the public to have full insight into all events surrounding the Jadar Project," the statement said.

Vucic on Wednesday said he would visit the area but did not say when ahead of the second environmentalist protest across Serbiaannounced for Saturday.

The NGO's statement added the date and time of the visit would be known after the consultation with the President's Office.
