New Serbian highway needs repairs

TANJUG/TANJA VALIC

Nova daily said on Friday that the Milos Veliki highway needs repairs worth a million Euro just three years after it was finished.

The daily said that the Serbian state-owned roads company Putevi Srbije confirmed that a top layer of asphalt was removed after cracks and holes were reported. It said that about 2.5 kilometers of the highway is being repaired on the Ub-Lajkovic section. The work is being done by the Strabag company instead of the Chinese Shandong company that built the highway, it added.

The Shandong Hi – Speed Group denied that it built the section of the Milos Veliki highway that is being reconstructed.

The Milos Veliki highway was opened by President Aleksandar Vucic. Its construction was lauded as a major project by the Serbian authorities.
