“We are very grateful to the NIS Company for showing social responsibility and for deciding to donate money for projects that will benefit all citizens of Serbia after achieving excellent business results last year,” a Government press release quoted Finance Minister Sinisa Mali as saying.
Mali pointed out that all the companies that operate and make profit in Serbia are aware of the fact that their role in the overall economic environment is significant, but also that it is important for citizens to see that companies care for the development of the Serbian society.
NIS CEO Kirill Tyurdenev said his company is a leader in socially responsible business and that they are proud of the fact that Serbians have great trust in NIS.
“We have been supporting young talent for years, investing in education, healthcare and social welfare institutions, investing in ecology, sports, and culture. Behind us are numerous successfully implemented projects that have improved the lives of our fellow citizens. Now, in cooperation with partners from the Government, we are taking a new step towards achieving a common goal - supporting projects that are important for the citizens of Serbia,” said Tyurdenev.
