Nis University staff protest government decision

The government decided on November 5 to form the university school which would have 3 departments taken out of the School of Philosophy - Serbistics, History and Russian Language and Literature.

The university professors, researchers, staff and students called the academic community to support their petition to revoke the government decision as unconstitutional and illegal. The petition on the peticije.online portal was launched by a group of professors at the 3 departments that are about to be taken out of the School of Philosophy.

The petition comes a day after a protest in Nis against the government decision. School of Philosophy deputy dean Marija Vujovic told a news conference that the school will demand the govenrment revoke its decision and would petition the Constitutional Court.
