No agreement was reached at the Wednesday meeting of MP caucuses at the Serbian Parliament regarding the opposition’s proposal to amend the Law on Local Elections, and the consultations will resume on Thursday, the Beta news agency reported.

Transparency Serbia program director Nemanja Nenadic, who has been elected chair of the Working Group tasked with improving electoral conditions, told the Beta news agency that the Working Group has not yet made any decisions regarding the proposals.

The Working Group comprises representatives of MP caucuses (two each), representatives of national minorities that do not have parliamentary groups, and civil society representatives – the Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA), Center for Free Elections and Democracy, and Transparency Serbia.
