Tuesday’s Vojvodina Assembly session adopted the northern Serbian province’s 2025 budget but did not discuss initiatives to remove its speaker and the provincial government chief.
The opposition called for the dismissal of speaker Balint Juhas and provincial Prime Minister Maja Gojkovic.
Outside the building in central Novi Sad, protesting university students blew whistles and chanted to show their dissatisfaction over the fact that the Assembly was not set to discuss their protest and demands.
The session lasted just 45 minutes with opposition MPs walking out to join the protesting students who decide to move on to a nearby high school which seniors took over on Monday as a show of support.
