North Macedonia’s PM on visit to Belgrade

Following the meeting, Serbian and North Macedonian senior officials signed three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the two governments.

Serbian and North Macedonian Interior Ministers Bratislav Gasic and Oliver Spasovski signed a MoU on measures aimed at promoting movement of people and goods across the Serbia-North Macedonia state border.

Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Dubravka Djedovic and North Macedonian Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi signed a MoU on cooperation in the mining and energy sector.

Serbian Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Goran Vesic and North Macedonian Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski signed a MoU on a project to establish an interoperable electronic tolling system.

The signing of the MoUs was also attended by the Serbian and North Macedonian Prime Ministers.

Vucic, Kovacevski: Relations between the two countries “the best in modern history”

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and PM Kovacevski agreed that the relations between the two countries “are the best in modern history,” said Vucic’s office.

It quoted Vucic as saying that there was “firm political will” in both Serbia and North Macedonia for further strengthening of cooperation, adding that he proposed concrete steps in the fields of trade, tourism, culture and sports.

Kovacevski said there were no outstanding issues between Serbia and North Macedonia and that the partnership between the two countries sets an example for the region, said a press release issued by Vucic’s office.

Vucic added that Serbia was committed to promoting a positive, future-oriented agenda in regional relations, adding that its active role in the Open Balkan initiative is proof of this.

The two leaders discussed cooperation as part of the initiative and additional benefits to the citizens of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, said the press release.
