The government of North Macedonia decided to set price limits on basic food products and keep them at the level they were on December 1.

The decision passed at the 124th government session on Saturday will be in effect at least by January 21, 2022.

This decision determines the highest price for the food items including bread, sugar, edible oil, flour type 400, whole milk, fresh meat and cured meat products.

According to the government's statement, the decision may be extended depending on the situation on the market.

Economy Minister Kresnik Bektesi wrote on Facebook that the decision was initiated by his ministry, adding that the discounted products from December 1 were exempt from the decision.
