Nova portal says Lavrov to visit Belgrade

According to the portal’s sources, Lavrov will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic just three days before the scheduled visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the first visit since Russia invaded Ukraine.

Vucic said earlier this week that he is scheduled to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin on a new natural gas contract on Sunday.

Lavrov’s most recent visit to Belgrade was in October 2021.

Serbia has been under pressure from both Russia and the West over the sanctions imposed against Moscow by the European Union.
