Nova.rs: Ex-minister Tomislav Momirovic detained

According to unofficial information obtained by N1, Momirovic was detained on Friday morning at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport.

An Organized Crime Prosecutor’s Office operation has been underway since Friday morning.

Pro-regime media outlets reported that an arrest warrant has also been issued for former minister Goran Vesic, who according to media reports was rushed to hospital on Thursday evening and underwent surgery during the night.

The operation is linked to the November 1, 2024 disaster when a concrete canopy collapsed at the recently renovated Novi Sad main train station, killing 16 people and severely injuring one.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime is conducting a financial investigation into the reconstruction project of the Novi Sad train station.
