Four employees of the public enterprise Post of Serbia in Novi Sad, who took part in a work stoppage from February 14 to early March, have been fired, said one of the postal workers.

Denis Geljic confirmed to the Beta news agency that the dismissals have not yet been officially delivered, but that he saw the termination letters when he visited the director to ask about a reduced salary.

According to him, the reason given for the dismissals was participation in the work stoppage and support for student protests.

Geljic said that three other postal workers have also been fired, although, as he noted, there were initially 20 workers participating in the stoppage, with 12 still holding out by the end.

They will be represented by a legal team, and Geljic said they plan to file lawsuits once the termination notices are officially delivered.
