Students in Novi Sad called for a general strike on March 7, a repeat of a January 24 event which shut down a large part of the country’s businesses.
The students called people to take a day off or sick leave and join them on the streets of Serbian cities and towns.
They said that people should not shop, not go to restaurants and cafes, not use public transport or go to movies and the theater on March 7.
Hundreds of small businesses, institutions of culture and others joined the general strike in January.
