The leader of the People's Movement of Serbia (NPS), Miroslav Aleksic, told "Nova" that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic plans to use the European Union (EU) as an alibi for lithium mining.
Aleksic said that this raises the question of "what kind of president would allow other countries to force him to destroy his own people" and that he openly admits to it.
"How could the EU even force a sovereign country, which isn't even a member state, to do something that would effectively endanger the survival of our people in this region? I would like the president, who has become a true genius at manipulating information and misleading the citizens of Serbia, to answer that question because none of us would want to pay the price of autocracy by destroying our country," Aleksic emphasized.
He stressed that while he understands the interests of foreign countries and companies, he will never accept actions that are detrimental to Serbia and its people for the benefit of others.
"The energy and dissatisfaction among citizens are growing due to a government that is destroying our country, making our lives more difficult, dismantling institutions, and steeped in corruption and crime, pushing us into debt slavery. On top of that, they are planning a final blow to Serbia by turning our country into a mining colony. No one who cares about their country should remain silent," Aleksic concluded.
