Head of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo Petar Petkovic said KFOR’s mandate “was to protect the Serbs, yet they protected the false mayors,” who, he said, have no right to be in municipal administration buildings in northern Kosovo.

He stressed that KFOR troops practically assisted the Kosovo’s Regional Operational Support Unit (ROSU).

“We insist that Pristina, that is, KFOR, release the remaining two Serbs who peacefully protested outside the municipal administration building in Zvecan. They were taken to Mitrovica South and charged with hooliganism,” Petkovic told the Serbian state TV (RTS).

Petkovic said Kosovo Serbs “cannot come to terms with the occupation of northern Kosovo,” and that “the state of Serbia is with them,” but noted that Serbia does not want conflicts.
