Ombudsman: Improve working conditions

“Care for workers, improving their rights and position have to be priorities for the state,” Ombudsman Zoran Pasalic said in a statement issued on International Workers’ Day said.

He added that working conditions have to be upgraded and adequate legal protection provided along with equal opportunity to advance on the job.

He welcomed the draft workplace health and security law which is in parliamentary procedure because it brings important changes in promoting the position of employees such as the introduction of remote work, mandatory safety training and responsibility for work-related injuries.
