Ongoing investigation into alleged Russian agents arrested at Serbian border

According to the High Court in Subotica, the suspects, identified by the initials B.D. and Dj.S., have been in custody since June 12. Their detention was extended on July 9 and is currently set to last until August 10. The High Public Prosecutor's Office in Subotica, which is leading the proceedings, has officially charged the men with the unauthorized production, possession, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials in co-perpetration. Additionally, the suspect B.D. faces three charges related to the falsification of documents.

The nature of the alleged operation gained international attention after the German Interior Ministry acknowledged that a potential act of sabotage within Germany had been thwarted. German officials have declined to provide further details while the investigation remains active. Information regarding the nationalities of the suspects and the specific findings of the probe remains undisclosed by both the court and the prosecutor’s office.
