Opposition disrupts, walks out of local assembly sessions

The Topola councilors said they brought in sacks of garbage to protest the town’s waste disposal problems which they said have been present for years and are not being resolved. The opposition councilors cleaned up the mess they made after the session. A strong police presence was reported at the municipal assembly building.

In Arandjelovac, opposition councilors filed a motion to dismiss the local mayor but it was rejected and they walked out of the session claiming the municipal assembly speaker failed to include their motion on the agenda.

An N1 crew was refused access to the local assembly session in Arandjelovac with local officials claiming the request to cover the meeting was denied out of technical reasons.
