Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) MP Jelena Milosevic said IT experts from her and the Serbia Center (SRCE) party analyzed the voter registry for Nis and found what she said is an “unexplainable surplus”. She said the surplus names are probably people brought in from other places to vote for the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) at the June 2 local elections.

“The SNS will have an advantage of some 11,000 votes by putting their people on the registry and that is about 11 percent of the vote if just 50 percent of the electorate turns out,” she told reporters, adding that there a trend of changes to the voter registry was noted over the past few months.

A member of her party’s IT team said changes to the voter registry were noted prior to the 2022 and the 2023 parliamentary elections and now prior to the June 2 vote.
