Opposition MPs raise questions about Telekom finances

Opposition MPs raised questions about the finances of the state-controlled Telekom Serbia during question time in parliament on Tuesday.

Nikola Nesic, an MP for the Moramo-Zajedno (We Must – Together) coalition asked who takes care of the 58.11 percent of Telekom shares owned by the citizens of Serbia. One share each was out to all eligible adult Serbian citizens before President Aleksandar Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) came to power. Dividends are paid annually.

Nesic called the Serbian government to submit a report on how the shares are being managed.

Fellow opposition MP Borko Stefanovic (Part of Freedom and Justice – SSP) asked how much Telekom Serbia is paying to the private pro-regime TV Pink for its TV packages.

Stefanovic also asked why Telekom is refusing to broadcast cable TV channels that the authorities disapprove of.
