The opposition People's Movement of Serbia told N1 that its official Milos Pavlovic was arrested outside his home town of Uzice. Pavlovic was stopped by traffic police on the way to Mt Zlatibor for what the police said was a routine check.
He was handcuffed and told that he was being arrested for taking part in the December 24 opposition protest in front of Belgrade City Hall following elections.
Pavlovic was released and was ordered to report to the Belgrade City Police on Monday to be questioned, his party leader Miroslav aleksic told N1.
The police said Pavlovic was stopped for using his mobile phone while driving and added that a routine check showed that he was wanted for questioning.
