Two officials of the opposition Democratic Party (DS) were arrested following an incident in the Pecinci municipality seat on Monday, DS MP Dragan Rakic said.
Several DS officials were at the municipality building for a public debate on construction plans in the village of Simanovci just outside Belgrade.
A security guard tried to prevent them from entering initially by arguing with them and then trying to push them out. The DS officials managed to get in to attend the debate.
Rakic said that the police arrested the head of the local DS branch and an MP following the incident.
