Jan Braathu, the head of the OSCE mission in Serbia, said on Friday his organisation would support journalists in the country in fighting for media freedom and improving the safety of media people.

Visiting the Association of Serbia’s Journalists (UNS), he said OSCE backed the work of the Press Council.

The meeting agenda included the Group for Journalists’ Protection and Safety and the implementation of the Media Strategy in Serbia.

The talks also focused on local media in the country and the need to deal with their problems more efficiently.
