Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani focused her annual address to parliament on the Banjska armed incident which she labeled an act of aggression with a clear plan to annex the north and destabilize the region.

“The September 24 attack is clear indicator that Serbia is not interested in lasting peace or good neighbor relations or an end to the dialogue process with Kosovo. Unfortunately, Vucic’s policies is yesterday’s Milosevic policies,” Osmani told MPs.

She said the Banjska armed incident was a warning that Serbia will not give up on its dark plans. “Serbia is attacking all of Europe because it is working for the interests of bad elements and elements whose aim is to strike at the European Union and NATO by destabilizing the Balkans,” she added. Osmani praised the police saying that one police officer was killed in Banjska but that thousands of men and women in the police were mobilized saying they would defend the borders at any cost.

She called for the unity of the Kosovo Albanians to “remain firm before Serbia”. She called for measures against Serbia over the Banjska armed incident and attacks on KFOR troops and journalists claiming that failure to introduce measures provides motivation to continue the violence.

Osmani said that the draft statute for the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) would be reviewed by the Constitutional Court but called all parties to review the draft together once it is submitted and before it goes to the court. “Our common goal is to secure full alignment with the Constitution and not allow indirect authorities or other anomalies which could jeopardize the function of our state,” she said.
