Outgoing Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said on Tuesday that teachers who did not hold classes would not be getting the first part of their February salaries. Pročitaj više
He told TV Prva that they can’t get paid for not working, adding that the decision is final. School students and teachers across Serbia have joined the student protests with teachers making their own demands to improve their position.
“The people who pushed students out of school say they are teaching them a much more important lesson. Don’t lie, you’re making the schools political,” he said, adding that the schools were allowed not to work which, he claimed, was not the case even during the occupation in WW 2.
Vucevic lashed out at high school students who he claimed spat at and cursed at their headmistress. “It disgusts me when someone calls them heroes and they curse at and assault their professors and headmasters,” Vucevic said alluding to students at Belgrade’s 5th Grammar school.
