The Palestinian Ambassador in Belgrade Muhammad Nabhan said that the opening of embassies in Jerusalem will affect those countries’ relations with Palestine and recalled that the Palestinian authorities have not recognized Kosovo.

“We are opposed to the relocation of embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem because Jerusalem is an occupied city… We do not recognize Kosovo because of UN Security Council resolution 1244 and Serbia’s stands and are calling our friends to respect UN Security Council Resolution 478 which calls all countries not to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” the ambassador told TV Prva.

Serbia agreed to relocate its embassy to Jerusalem under the Washington Agreements. Under the agreements, signed by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, both Belgrade and Pristina will have embassies in Jerusalem.
