Parliament adopts amended budget

The Serbian Parliament adopted the amended 2024 budget on Monday, following days of debate which was dominated by a war of words between the ruling coalition and opposition MPs.

According to the amended budget, the planned revenue stands at 2.173 billion Dinars (1 Euro – 117 Dinars) which is almost 6.5 percent (132.5 billion) more than the original budget.

The amended budget includes 48.6 billion Dinars to pay for French Rafale combat aircraft and 20.4 billion for the EXPO 2027. It also increased financial support for families with children.

A total of 146 amendments were submitted.

The debate opened on September 23 and focused on the planned Rio Tinto project Jadar to mine lithium in western Serbia.
