Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic likened the protesting students in Novi Sad to fascists on Monday.
She told the pro-regime TV Pink that “the blockaders (derogatory term used by regime officials and their supporters) showed what fascism is like in practice”.
Brnabic said that the students and their supporters blocking the Novi Sad University Faculty of Sport and Physical Education were there to lynch rivals and launch violence against them. “They are lynching people on the streets, chasing them, preventing ambulances from passing just because someone has a different view to theirs,” she said.
She also claimed that Dean Patrik Drida was chased and verbally abused when he tried to get away limping because of a knee injury.
