Head of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said it has been 4,000 days since Pristina undertook the obligation to form the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM), and Belgrade got “firm international guarantees that this would be done.” (Kosovo and Metohija is the official name for what the Serbian authorities consider to be the country’s southern province)

“They lied about everything. (Kosovo Prime Minister Albin) Kurti is literally making it clear to the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija that their disenfranchisement is permanent, and to Belgrade that they are not prepared for normalization on the ground,” Petkovic wrote on the X social media platform.

He said that not only is Pristina “inadequately sanctioned for sabotaging the normalization process,” but it is also “rewarded” with prospects for membership in certain international organizations.

“We have understood the Western policy of double standards very well,” Petkovic said.

The Brussels agreement, which envisages the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, was signed on April 19, 2013 by the then Serbian and Kosovo prime ministers, Ivica Dacic and Hashim Thaci.
