Head of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said that the Kosovo Property Comparison and Verification Agency has sent notices to the addresses of some 150 Serb families in the north of Kosovo demanding that they vacate their apartments by end of June. (Kosovo and Metohija is the official name for what the Serbian authorities consider to be the country’s southern province)

He explained that the owners of apartments purchased from social enterprises 25, 30 years ago are told to vacate their apartments and that, if they fail to do so, they will be evicted, Petkovic told the Serbian state TV (RTS).

Petkovic said Belgrade has “sent letters to numerous addresses and through diplomatic channels, and is doing everything to stop such a shameful and senseless decision.”

“(Kosovo Prime Minsiter Albin) Kurti never rests. He is doing everything to continue his policy of ethnic cleansing and expulsion of the Serbian people from the territory of Kosovo and Metohija,” said Petkovic.

Asked what is happening with the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Petkovic replied: “Belgrade is always ready for dialogue.”

“When we get an invitation from Brussels, we are always ready to respond,” he said, adding that Pristina and Albin Kurti are against the dialogue.
