The head of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said that German Ambassador to Kosovo Jorn Rohde “for the umpteenth time” stepped outside diplomatic boundaries and the “supposedly proclaimed political neutrality.” (Kosovo and Metohija is the official name for what the Serbian authorities consider to be the country’s southern province)

In a post on the social network Bluesky Rohde shared that the European Union (EU) observation mission’s preliminary report on recent parliamentary elections in Kosovo found that Serbia had interfered in these elections by promoting votes for the Serb List.

Petkovic said in a press release that the German Ambassador to Kosovo has “essentially become a spokesperson, specifically for (Kosovo Prime Minister) Albin Kurti,” who “has a problem with the Serb List’s convincing victory and the support it received from the Serb people in the recent elections.”

He added that Belgrade has never hidden and will never hide its support for the Serb List, as well as that it will continue to help the Serbs in Kosovo.

Rohde wrote on Bluesky that the “attacks and campaigns” against the organizers of the student protests extend beyond the borders of Serbia, which “baselessly accuses Kosovo of supporting genuine protests in Serbia without any evidence.”
