“I would like fro us to conclude in a month or two that things are changing in regard to the European Commission and European External Action Service towards that notoriously authoritarian regime right next to Croatia,” Picula said.
He warned that Serbia, an EU candidate country, has been sliding towards an authoritarian regime for years, with even the part of the Serbian population that silently supported Vucic disappointed with what he is doing. “The basic issue for me is whether Vucic is losing the trust of Serbian institutions… The issue is whether he controls those institutions and that is a signal to the European Commission to think about its current policies towards Serbia,” he added.
