Serbian President and leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Aleksandar Vucic told his associates that he is prepared to withdraw, Pink TV posted on its portal, adding that, following an emotional address to his party colleagues, Vucic left the SNS headquarters in New Belgrade, as did the chairman of the SNS Executive Board Darko Glisic.
According to Pink, Vucic informed his party’s leadership about the West’s pressures on Serbia regarding Kosovo, and then left.
“We learn that some party officials tried to play smart, saying that we absolutely shouldn’t accept further negotiations with the European Union (EU) and US,” said Pink on its portal.
Citing unnamed sources, Pink reported that Vucic “patiently listened to everything and then said he will withdraw if someone thinks they can do better and that they know better.”
He said that “if the people refuse negotiations and if someone thinks that we should economically destroy the country, he would let those smarter than him lead the country,” reported Pink.
