PM Brnabic: GDP growth owing to industry, agriculture

In the first quarter of the current year the gross domestic product (GDP) achieved growth of 0.7 percent, exceeding expectations, said members of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP Growth at a sitting on Monday chaired by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
The areas that contributed to GDP growth are industry and agriculture, Brnabic pointed out, stressing that the expected economic growth in Serbia in 2023 is 2.5 percent, said the Serbian Government in a press release.
The Prime Minister said inflation was slowing down and stagnant and that is should stand at around 8 percent at the end of the year.
She noted that further investment in capital projects was also necessary so as to maintain sustainable economic growth, and highlighted the importance of building a national stadium was important.
Brnabic said the tourism industry can be directly influenced and added that Serbia was registering record-high numbers of both domestic and foreign tourists.
The Prime Minister underlined the importance of promoting the country and all its landmarks in the best way possible in the countries whose citizens have shown interest in visiting Serbia.
