PM Brnabic says minister has no responsibility for mass shootings

A 13 year old boy gunned down eight fellow pupils and a security guard at the Vladislav Ribnikar elementary school in Belgrade and a 21 year old young man gunned down several others in two villages outside the town of Mladenovac a day later. Education Minister Branko Ruzic resigned after the first shooting.

Speaking during a debate on Gasic’s dismissal initiated by opposition MPs, Brnabic said that the Internal Affairs Minister did nothing wrong and “is not responsible directly or indirectly” for the mass shootings. “Everything that the police could do, they did. It happened,” she said. Brnabic repeated her claim that the system did not fail.
