Outgoing Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic thanked the Russian security services for notifying the Serbian government about the incidents planned for Sunday in Belgrade which, as she claimed, were orchestrated by some Western services.

In a pro-regime Pink TV show on Sunday evening, Brnabic recalled that even before the December 17 elections she had warned that a part of the opposition would try to challenge the election results and seize power in Serbia by force, which culminated in “an attack on the Belgrade City Assembly,” Vreme cited a Politka article.

She thanked the Russian security services that “shared this information with their Serbian colleagues.”

„This probably won’t be very popular with those from the West, but especially this evening I feel it is very important to stand up for Serbia and thank the Russian security services that had this information and shared it with us,” said Brnabic.

“The Serbian state bodies then shared this information with other international community representatives who dismissed it as Russian disinformation,” said Brnabic.
