Brnabic pointed out that Serbia had continuously worked on the opening of Cluster 3, which is fully ready, adding that she expects a positive signal from the EU for its opening, said the press release.

She assessed that the main goal in the previous period was to make progress in all areas, especially in the rule of law, noting that the European Commission also recognized in its latest Report Serbia's progress in a number of key areas, as well as that no backsliding in reforms was recorded in any area.

Regarding the judiciary, the Prime Minister assessed that the reforms were successfully implemented in order to achieve greater independence, accountability and efficiency of the judicial system, in consultation with the Council of Europe Venice Commission. She informed the ambassadors that the Anti-Corruption Strategy is being drafted, which will contain all GRECO recommendations, and whose text is currently in the process of consultation with the European Commission.

Brnabic informed the EU ambassadors that the Law on Public Information and Media and the Law on Electronic Media have been adopted, which will guarantee the freedom of the media and public information and ensure the safety and pluralism of the media scene in Serbia, in accordance with the highest international standards of the EU countries and documents of the United Nations and the Council of Europe, said the press release.

The Head of the EU Delegation said the Annual Report on Serbia gives an accurate and fair picture of the steps taken in the reform processes in Serbia in the past year. He emphasized that enlargement occupies a central place in the EU policy and added that it is an opportunity that Serbia must take advantage of and speed up the pace of reforms.

The Prime Minister concluded Serbia will continue working on comprehensive reforms in the best interest of society and citizens. She expressed her particular satisfaction with the fact that, when it comes to economic parameters, the Report states for the first time that Serbia is at a good level of preparedness for the membership.
