Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said on Monday that the indictment for the collapse of a concrete awning at Novi Sad Railway Station which claimed 15 lives confirms that no one intends to hide anything.
Vucevic was mayor of Novi Sad at the time of the reconstruction of the city’s main railway station.
Speaking at the opening of a reconstructed local medical facility in a Belgrade suburb, the prime minister said that the indictment also confirms that no one was obstructing the case. He said the file was closed quickly for a case so complex.
“We see that things are heading towards determining responsibility,” he said.
According to him, the indictment won’t affect the student blockades. “I think the whole country knows that the demands have been met. We are at a stage when we don’t know what the demands are and you get a new demand every day. We are getting to the moment when you’ll see only political demands,” Vucevic said.
