Police arrest 2 for combat training foreign nationals

Serbian counter-terrorism police arrested two people suspected of organizing combat training for Moldovan and Romanian nationals.

An Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) press release said that the Counter-Terrorism Service worked with prosecutors and the Security Information Agency (BIA) in the ioperation to arrest the two men identified only by their initials.

They are suspected of providing training in effective resistance to the Moldovan police during possible riots on election day, September 28. The training was organized in western Serbia near the city of Loznica in July and September for some 150-170 Moldovan and Romanian nationals.

The police seized laptops, mobile phones, as well as a device for detection and monitoring of radio-frequency signals, and a firearm.
