“Officers from the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP), specifically the Service for Combating Organized Crime, in collaboration with Europol, Eurojust, and several international police organizations, and coordinated with the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (JTOK), carried out a planned operation to arrest several individuals suspected of being members of multiple criminal groups,” Vasiljevic said.

He added that “two operations were conducted in Serbia.”

“Ten individuals were arrested, some in Belgrade and others in Sabac, while three individuals were apprehended outside Serbia. Additionally, the UKP and the Belgrade City Police Department conducted a separate operation in Belgrade, resulting in 13 arrests, with three more currently being apprehended. That brings the total to 26 individuals, plus the three outside Serbia,” he explained.

Vasiljevic emphasized that these were “serious criminal groups.”

“They are suspected of the most severe crimes, including aggravated murder, multiple murders, large-scale drug trafficking, illegal possession and carrying of firearms, and multiple acts of endangering public safety. This is a significant operation for the Republic of Serbia in suppressing crime within our borders,” he said.
