A police officer was shot during an arrest operation in Belgrade’s Zvezdara neighborhood on Friday, local media reported.
The armed incident took place at the intersection of Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra and Batutova streets during the operation by the city Criminal Police Department.
The Serbian Police Union confirmed that exchange of fire between police officers and a murder suspect.
N1 was told off the record that the police went after a red car which sped away.
