Poll shows lack of faith in authorities, opposition

The Institute’s poll showed that 70 percent of the public do not see the authorities or opposition as a solution. “That is the most alarming thing on several levels. We have no player we trust, we have no player to trust with power and we have a crisis that needs to be resolved,” an Institute official said.

According to the poll, the opposition enjoys some 20 percent support and the authorities just 7. “The question is whether we need new players, new parties or new faces on the political scene,” she added.

The poll also showed that all of the public feel that corruption, injustice, constantly rising prices and education system shortcomings as the biggest problems. It also showed that the attitude towards protests are the only difference between supporters of the authorities and of the students with just slight differences on everything else. Serbian institutions do not enjoy the trust of either of the two groups.
