The President of Serbia Center, Zdravko Ponos, stated that the opposition must return to where it left off and continue formulating legal proposals that ensure a much higher level of integrity in the electoral process, preventing partisan majorities from declaring something legally sound that is obviously illegal even to laymen.

In an interview with Danas, he assessed that the opposition's fight was significantly damaged because it was halted at a moment when it was successful and leading to much better electoral conditions before the end of the year.

"The second damage is the acceptance of unacceptable norms in practice, for example, agreeing on which laws do not need to be respected. Thirdly, it is not easy to impose the fight for electoral conditions as an important political issue immediately after repeated elections in which the opposition did not achieve the desired result after agreeing to participate under irregular conditions," emphasized Ponos.

He added that his strongest impression, and the saddest scene of the June elections, was the situation in Novi Sad when young people fled the hall where they were doing some obviously illegal work for the SNS.

"It was encouraging to see many of them hiding their faces. They are aware that what they were doing is not right, that it is at the very least contrary to the norms of good upbringing and conventional understanding of what is and what is not fair. There is hope as long as those working for the SNS feel shame," concluded Ponos.
