Portion of Kolubara workers stop working
A portion of employees at the Tamnava mine in the Kolubara coal basin suspended work on Friday, holding a 15-minute moment of silence to commemorate the 15 victims who died in the Novi Sad train station canopy collapse on November 1.
The Masina portal posted on the social media platform X a video showing a large number Tamnava mine employees standing in silence.
Tamnava Mine is a crucial component of Serbian power company’s (EPS) Kolubara Coal Basin, providing coal for thermal power plants that generate most of Serbia’s electricity.
The Serbian power company (EPS) said that coal and electricity production remain stable and continue as usual. The company highlighted its employees' responsibility, professionalism, and dedication through their expertise and adherence to professional standards and work discipline
EPS emphasized that its employees did not participate in “false calls for solidarity and isolated gatherings organized by political activists,” and remained at their workstations during these events.
