Prices rise by half a percent, Statistics Office says

Consumer goods prices in Serbia rose by an average of 0.5 percent in December, the Republic Statistics Office (RZS) said on Thursday.

“Consumer prices in December 2022 increased by 15.1% compared to December 2021. Consumer prices in 2022 compared to 2021 increased by 11.9%, on average,” a RZS press release said.

It said that the prices of furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance rose by 2.6%, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 1.3%, restaurants and hotels 1.2%, food and non-alcoholic beverages 1.0%, recreation and culture 0.8%, clothing and footwear 0.7%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0.6% and health care Health 0.2%.

It added that transport prices dropped.
