Pro-Palestine gathering in Novi Pazar

Novi Pazar is in the Sandzak area of Serbia which has a majority Moslem/Bosniak population.

The crowd carried Palestinian flags and recent pictures of the Gaza strip. Leaflets were handed out calling for a boycott of Israeli products.

The protest gathering and march under the slogan Freedom, Peace and Palestine was organized by local NGOs and humanitarian organizations.

A similar gathering of several hundred people was held in Novi Pazar three weeks earlier.

Large numbers of Palestinians were schooled in the former Yugoslavia with many of them choosing to stay and start families, creating bonds and sympathy for the Palestinians.
